Will Smith thinks the Hollywood group needs to lead in a period of relapse and separatism in the U.S.
The star showed up on The Graham Norton Show, where he was asked where he stands now on his choice to join wife Jada Pinkett Smith in boycotting the Oscars function on the grounds that no performers of shading were designated for grants.
"I felt genuinely that there is a relapse in America all in all towards separatism and racial and religious prohibition, so for me, it's more about putting my hand up and reminding my group, the Hollywood group, that we need to lead," he said.
"As my grandma said, 'lead with affection and light and great is just going to leave it.'"
